An uplink physical channel contains resource elements that carry information originating from higher layers.
The following uplink physical channels are defined:
Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH)
Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH)
Physical Random Access Channel (PRACH)
The following general steps describe uplink signal generation on a physical uplink shared channel. Figure 1 illustrates this process.

Scramble the bits.
Modulate the scrambled bits to generate complex-valued symbols.
Apply transform precoding to generate complex-valued modulation symbols.
Map the complex-valued modulation symbols to resource elements.
Generate a complex-valued time-domain SC-FDMA signal for each antenna port.
